7 things you need to know before attending Team’26 Europe

Atlassian Team’26 Europe is back, and this year it moves to Amsterdam’s RAI Convention Center from October 6 to 8. Whether you are attending for the first time or have attended in the past, the event is a valuable opportunity to discover what is happening across the Atlassian ecosystem, learn from customer stories, explore new product updates, and connect with teams facing challenges similar to yours.

At knowmad mood, we have been supporting Atlassian events as sponsors for years and currently hold the number one global position in the Atlassian Partner Directory. This experience allows us to see the ecosystem from the inside, while also understanding what it is really like to attend an event of this kind and which details make the difference for attendees.

That is why we have brought together a few practical tips based on our experience. Their purpose is to help you prepare for your visit, make more intentional use of your time, and turn what you learn there into concrete actions when you return.

7 practical tips to get real value from Team’26 Europe

  1. Define 2–3 business priorities before you go

Start by defining what you want to get from the event: a specific challenge, a strategic objective, or a key question you need answered. With that in mind, it will be easier to filter sessions, conversations, and insights, and to avoid spending time on topics that are interesting but not truly relevant.

  1. Build your agenda around challenges and opportunities, not sessions

From our experience attending and supporting Atlassian events — and working with more than 400 active Atlassian customers — the most valuable agendas are usually built around business challenges, not session titles. Map each session to your priorities, whether that means scaling Jira, improving governance, advancing Cloud adoption, or strengthening alignment through the System of Work.

Make sure you have the Team Events app downloaded before you go too. This will help you navigate the conference hall, view information on the sessions, and build your itinerary.

  1. Book meetings before the event

After years on the sponsor side, we have learned that the best conversations rarely happen by chance. Identify the partners, experts, and peers you want to meet, secure time slots before calendars fill up, and approach the Expo Hall with specific questions rather than treating it as a simple walkthrough.

Use the Braindate functionality in the Team Events app to book one-on-one sessions with experts and other useful contacts. You can view other attendees’ profiles and ideal talking points before booking time with them.

  1. Prioritize keynotes and product updates — but connect them to your reality

Keynotes and product sessions are often where the big messages emerge, from Atlassian’s strategic direction to new capabilities and roadmap signals. Our recommendation is not to follow every announcement with the same intensity, but to ask what each one means for your teams: does it change your Cloud strategy, your approach to service management, your use of AI, or the way you connect work across the organization?

Remember that the content from speakers will also be available online after the event, so if you’re struggling to pick a session or can’t remember everything in the moment, make sure you pick back up online once the event is over.

  1. Don’t just listen — validate your ideas

One of the most useful things we have seen over the years is how attendees use the event to pressure-test their plans, validate roadmaps, get feedback on their current setup, and explore better approaches. With more than 200 Atlassian-specialized professionals, we know that product demos are useful, but the strongest insights often come from customer stories, measurable impact, and practical scenarios you can replicate.

  1. Take notes with action in mind

A common lesson from events like this is that not everything needs to be captured. Instead, structure your notes around three points: the insight, why it matters, and what you could apply internally. At the same time, leave room to talk to attendees and learn how others are solving similar challenges.

  1. Plan your post-event follow-up before attending

If there is one thing years of participation have confirmed, it is that the real value of the event often appears after it ends. Before you go, decide how you will share insights internally, who needs to be involved, and which 2–3 realistic ideas should become quick wins with clear ownership.

LinkedIn can be a powerful networking tool after the event too, so make sure you contact and connect with those you want to have a continued professional relationship with. With our tight-knit Atlassian ecosystem, it’s no doubt that you’ll see them again at another event in future!
